Legends Global is recruiting part-time, as-needed Audio-Visual Technician team members for the Operations department at Truist Arena in Highland Heights, KY. Schedules and hours vary weekly based on event needs.
About the role
This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of facility and client audio, video, and technical systems, including sound, video, and broadcast equipment. You will set up, monitor, and maintain technical equipment such as audio, video, and scoreboard operations, as well as handle cable feeds, structural audio/video installations, and compliance with applicable code requirements.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair audio, video, and technical systems, including sound, video, and radio/television broadcasts.
- Set up, monitor, and maintain technical equipment for events, including audio, video, and scoreboard operations.
- Provide installation and repairs for cable feeds, audio, and video systems, whether event-related or structural.
- Ensure compliance with code requirements for cable insulation, ceiling plenum routing, wall penetration, and fire-rated conduit raceways.
- Troubleshoot routine technical problems and use test equipment to verify system issues.
- Read, understand, and communicate client floor plan layouts.
- Maintain inventory of all audio and video equipment.
- Coordinate work with all operations sections and interface effectively with users, providers, and peers.
- Perform event standby duties and troubleshoot technical problems in real-time.
- Conform to company policies and perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; college or technical school degree a plus.
- 2+ years of previous audio/video experience.
- Ability to identify and terminate all forms of audio and video connections (consumer, professional, or broadcast level).
- Extensive knowledge of signal flow for both audio and video applications.
- Working knowledge of wireless systems and frequencies.
- Understanding of digital vs. analog signals in audio and video.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of patch bays, switchers, mixers, and converters installation in audio and video applications.
- Sufficient hearing to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells, and horns.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
Physical Demands
- Ability to climb and work from lifts, ladders, or catwalks for extended periods, multiple times per day.
- Capable of walking and/or standing for 8–14 hours daily.
- Ability to kneel, climb, balance, and lift in excess of 50 pounds.
- Exposure to extreme noise during events.
