Under the direction of the Supervisor, Audio Visual, VIBE, the Audio Visual (A/V) Technician provides in-depth technical programming and support for atmospheric-based audio-visual (A/V) systems. Manages day-to-day requests of the VIBE team, delivers training, and ensures continuous operational support. Executes atmospheric initiatives, including rotational sports programming for The 909, and collaborates with Marketing to produce motion graphics and video projects that enhance guest entertainment while adhering to Enterprise branding guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and operates overhead and outlet music systems; assists in creating custom digital programming and audio playlists to meet enterprise requirements for music genres, volume, and input/outputs.
  • Supports A/V streaming platforms to ensure correct content delivery to designated areas.
  • Sets up, tests, and operates a variety of A/V equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, video screens, and monitors.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on all A/V equipment; escalates issues to appropriate service vendors as needed.
  • Transports, sets up, removes, and operates A/V equipment for onsite and offsite Yaamava’ meetings and events.
  • Tracks and maintains inventory of A/V equipment using a centralized asset management database.
  • Documents troubleshooting and resolution steps in the existing knowledge base to reduce future resolve time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of audio-visual related experience, including direct work with speakers, amplifiers, and LCD/Plasma displays.
  • Related, relevant, or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, a gaming license may be required.
  • Role requires regular commuting between locations; a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits are required.

Skills

  • Experience with digital signage software such as LUCI, Industry Weapon, Crestron, Orange Door, Resolume, and SpinetiX is preferred.
  • Vast knowledge of audio, visual, lighting, and digital equipment.
  • Advanced technical aptitude in audio-visual technology, computers, and networking; comprehensive knowledge of network hardware and software.
  • Passion for organized sports and sporting events.
  • Ability to schedule appropriate programming for approval under the direction of the VIBE Manager and VIBE committee.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clarity for non-technical end users and senior executives.
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Crestron, QSC equipment, amplifiers, receivers, A/V converters, and processors.

Physical Requirements

  • Primary work environment is a climate-controlled resort and casino; travel may be required for meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently; may lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work involving standing most of the time with intermittent sitting; constant operation of computers and office productivity machinery.
  • Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to understand conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to be clearly understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing computer terminals, reading, and inspecting employees, visitors, or facilities.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for travel to events and properties.
  • Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the work shift and during extended work hours.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke; reasonable accommodation will be made in compliance with applicable law.
