Audio Visual Installation Technician

About the role

This role involves installing and configuring operating room integration systems within multiple customers across an assigned territory or region. Key responsibilities include interpreting installation project documents, using various hand tools for equipment installation, terminating cables, using test equipment to ensure correct installation and energization, and verifying final system configurations with hospital systems and networks.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure operating room integration systems
  • Interpret installation project documents (Proposals, Port Maps, Wiring Diagrams, Infrastructure Drawings, etc.)
  • Use various hand tools to install STERIS equipment and systems
  • Terminate cables and ensure correct installation and energization
  • Verify final system configuration with hospital systems and networks
  • Support project installations under the supervision of Integration Specialists (I or II)
  • Provide verbal and written progress reports to the installation leader/project manager
  • Perform administrative duties such as checklists, Siebel entry, expense reporting, time entry, and others as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of recent installation of cable/audio visual/electronics experience or Associate's degree in Electronics or similar degree, plus 1+ year(s) of related experience
  • Project management experience, strongly preferred
  • Biomed/Hospital IT experience, preferred
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent knowledge of personal computers, video technology, video cabling, networking
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in computers and Windows software
  • Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes outside “normal business hours” and travel extensively to support business needs
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Must be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements

Qualifications

Pay

The pay range for this opportunity is $55,250.00 - $71,500.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
