Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Event & Classroom Support: Assist faculty, students, and staff with the setup and use of classroom multimedia, including projecting teaching materials from PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Sheets, and internet media sources.
- Equipment Handling: Check out AV equipment, safely transport it across campus to classrooms, and properly check it back into the main office after classes end.
- Basic Recording & Operation: Under direction, assist in recording teaching sessions in classrooms and labs (training provided on camera panning/zooming to capture instructor movement).
- Troubleshooting & Escalation: Provide basic troubleshooting for sound systems and computer connections. Actively identify and escalate complex technical problems to senior team members or managers when necessary.
- Customer Service: Ensure prompt, professional, and friendly communication with instructors, staff, and students at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience: No prior AV experience required; a willingness to learn new technology is essential.
- Technical Familiarity: Basic working knowledge of Windows and/or Mac systems, along with familiarity with common office and presentation software.
- Soft Skills: Strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, and a high level of reliability and attention to detail.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues.
Required Shift Availability
- Shift Option 1 (Morning): 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours), Monday & Tuesday OR 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (7 hours), Wednesday & Thursday
- Shift Option 2 (Afternoon/Evening): 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours), Monday & Tuesday OR 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (7 hours), Wednesday & Thursday
