The Role
The Audio Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise and support in the latest wireless technology and audio networking for project managers and clients.
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert on all professional audio equipment with an emphasis on com systems, wireless technology and audio networking.
- Oversee and execute the build of intricate control racks and RF systems.
- Occasionally consult on RFP/RFQ submissions.
- Propose solutions to audio projects that fit within the scope of Solotech standards.
- Complete lists of preparations in the inventory database (R2) with coordinators.
- Oversee and consult with production technicians on preparation of events in the warehouse.
- Oversee and execute quality control for wireless systems and associated products.
- Share knowledge with production technicians as they start work on events.
- Act as a consultant and technical support for pre-production events; remote troubleshooting and on-site consultation.
- Perform integration, programming, and configuration of the equipment: mixers, recording systems, processors, computers, etc.
- Occasionally make ready all aspects of audio systems prior to client's arrival.
- Train the staff and clients as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the field of live sound, engineering, production.
- Experience in drafting programs an asset.
- Experience in a rental equipment company.
- Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset).
- Good knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Adept in other computer programs that may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly sit, walk, speak, and hear.
- Regularly type, write, and read.
- Occasionally stand, carry, reach, lift and push up to 75 lbs.
Work Requirements
- Time will be spent in a warehouse setting.
- Environment may be fast-paced.
