Audience Analyst
As an Audience Analyst within the Subscriptions Audience team at Dow Jones, you will play a pivotal role in understanding audience behavior, preferences, and trends with a focus on growing subscriptions through quality reach and scale across our consumer brands, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and MarketWatch.
Responsibilities
- Experimentation Strategy & Measurement: Partner with Product and Engineering to define data requirements, establish success metrics, and monitor experiment performance to optimize testing outcomes.
- AI-Driven Analysis: Incorporate AI and automation tools to streamline test result analysis, manage projects, and measure overall business impact.
- Database Optimization: Define and document query optimization best practices to ensure a smooth, standardized migration from BigQuery to Snowflake.
- Funnel & Performance Reporting: Analyze customer acquisition funnels to resolve friction points, gather reporting requirements, and build tracking dashboards in Tableau.
- Audience Segmentation & Retention: Analyze complex behavioral and demographic data to segment audiences, partnering with Newsroom and Subscription teams to design and track targeted growth campaigns.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of professional experience in a subscription, marketing, or data-related role.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field (Business Analytics, Data Science, Social Sciences), or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of SQL, Snowflake, and Tableau.
- Understanding of testing platforms such as Piano Composer and StatSig.
- Strong skills in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Ability to deliver clear recommendations from data.
- Ability to summarize and present findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Passion for news and subscriptions, along with a curiosity about audience behavior.
Pay
Base Pay Range: $65,000 - $80,000. We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
