About the role

Pristinely situated in the Piedmont's Red Clay Valley, Auburn Valley State Park offers visitors a glimpse into the history of the Marshall Family, Yorklyn's industrial heritage, and the park's revitalization efforts. The seasonal park maintenance position involves assisting maintenance staff in maintaining park grounds and facilities. Duties include mowing grass, weeding and mulching landscape beds, pruning/trimming, picking up and removing trash, cleaning restrooms, repairing structures, and participating in carpentry and welding projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds through tasks such as mowing, trimming, athletic field maintenance, landscape bed maintenance, trash removal, vegetation removal, leaf removal, and snow/ice removal.
• Perform custodial services in restrooms, offices, and other buildings.
• Offer customer services by explaining regulations, addressing visitor inquiries, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas.
• Show responsibility, dependability, and effective communication skills.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools (grounding only).
• Possess a valid driver's license (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled).

Qualifications

• Education, training, and experience demonstrating competence in maintenance – custodial/grounds.

Benefits

This position is a casual/seasonal role without benefits, including health insurance and retirement plans.

Pay

$15.00 per hour
