Responsibilities And Duties Using their advanced knowledge, the appellate specialist coordinates appeals, assists the other Division attorneys in appellate work, and may handle difficult, complex, and challenging appeals within the Division. This position also reviews and edits briefs in federal trial and appellate courts, and state trial and appellate courts that are filed by the Division. The position may also be given other assignments at the request of the Solicitor General. The position regularly coordinates with the Solicitor General Division for appellate development and strategy, including identifying and drafting amicus briefs in the Division practice area. This position also independently handles an individual caseload, which may include non-appellate litigation cases, based on Division needs. Required Education And Experience Education Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Experience Five years of post-bar admission legal experience.
