Responsibilities
- Creates, edits, formats, and proofreads legal documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all materials
- Reviews and edits documents to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state jurisdictional rules and procedures
- Prepares legal documents for court filing and electronic filing
- Makes and manages hearing reservations, coordinating with court systems and attorney calendars
- Edit/proofread documents
- Promptly responds to attorney requests via written, verbal, or electronic communication
- Effectively and efficiently manages work and information requests, including document management, scheduling, and coordination of Firm resources
- Helps attorneys and team members apply new technology to improve efficiency and quality of work product
- Hands off work with detailed instructions to team members so that the work product is not compromised
- Smoother handles multiple demands and shifting priorities across all Firm offices
Requirements
- Experience in a legal environment or professional services preferred
- Adequate knowledge of general office equipment and software operating systems
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to develop positive working relationships (in-person and virtually)
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective organizational skills
- Proven problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication
- Ability to use a computer monitor, read, create, proofread and transcribe documents
- Ability to work in a high-pressure deadline driven environment
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, with a willingness to accept ownership of projects and be successful in driving project and daily tasks, to a successful conclusion
- Experience: 1-2 years related experience
- Prior experience working in a high-volume law firm preferred
- BA degree preferred
