Attorney – Matrimonial / Family Law

A law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Family Law Attorney to join its matrimonial and family law practice. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, and related legal issues. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of family law experience, strong litigation and negotiation skills, and a commitment to providing excellent legal services to clients. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of matrimonial and family law matters from inception through resolution.Handle divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division cases.Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other court documents.Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, conferences, negotiations, and settlement proceedings.Develop case strategies and advise clients on their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes.Negotiate settlements and advocate effectively for clients' interests.Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with court rules, procedures, and deadlines.Maintain client confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards. Qualifications And Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in New York State.Minimum of 5 years of experience in matrimonial and family law.Strong knowledge of divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property division.Ability to independently manage a complex caseload.Excellent legal research, writing, communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Professionalism and commitment to client confidentiality.
