Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume portfolio of litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution, with an emphasis on personal injury, product liability, and asbestos-related claims.
  • Develop case strategies, evaluate exposure, and guide matters through all phases of litigation while maintaining high standards of legal analysis and advocacy.
  • Prepare and revise pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents with careful attention to legal accuracy and persuasive writing.
  • Lead discovery efforts by drafting written discovery, reviewing responses, coordinating document production, and preparing witnesses for depositions.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide status updates, discuss legal strategy, and deliver clear reporting on case developments and risk considerations.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and other litigation proceedings as needed.
  • Work closely with colleagues across related practice areas to support matters involving overlapping issues in insurance, landlord-tenant, and business disputes.
  • Negotiate resolutions where appropriate while preparing cases thoroughly for trial when litigation demands a courtroom-ready approach.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with the ability to manage cases independently and effectively.
  • Active attorney license and authorization to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated background in civil litigation, including motion practice, legal briefing, and discovery management.
  • Experience defending personal injury and product liability claims; familiarity with asbestos litigation is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to oversee a significant caseload while balancing deadlines, client expectations, and strategic priorities.
  • Prior trial exposure or meaningful participation in trial preparation is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to report directly to clients in a clear and thorough manner.
