Attorney/Lawyer

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret California homeowners insurance policies.
• Research and apply California insurance law to complex coverage issues.
• Evaluate first-party property insurance claims and related coverage questions.
• Draft detailed, well-supported insurance coverage opinions and recommendation letters.
• Identify and communicate legal risks, policy interpretations, and potential coverage outcomes.
• Collaborate with supervising attorneys on novel or complex insurance coverage matters.
• Manage deadlines and maintain responsiveness in a fast-paced client environment.
• Produce high-quality written work with minimal supervision and limited revision needs.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in California preferred.
• Experience preparing insurance coverage opinions under California law.
• Strong background interpreting homeowners insurance policies and analyzing coverage disputes.
• Experience handling first-party property insurance claims and related coverage issues.
• Prior experience serving as coverage counsel is highly preferred.
• Excellent legal research, legal writing, and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently, exercise sound professional judgment, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with attorneys and clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or Lexis; experience with Clio is a plus.
