About the role
The firm is seeking an experienced Defense Litigation Attorney to join its growing Florida team. This is a key hire tied to ongoing expansion and offers the opportunity to step into a high-impact role within a collaborative and well-supported office.
Responsibilities
- Handle a nursing home / long-term care defense caseload from inception through resolution
- Manage matters including discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, and court appearances
- Work closely with clients on case strategy, risk assessment, and resolution planning
- Review and analyze medical records and develop effective defense strategies
- Collaborate with a tight-knit local team while leveraging the resources of a larger platform
- Take on increasing responsibility and leadership within the office
Requirements
- 3–7+ years of litigation experience
- Nursing home / long-term care defense strongly preferred
- Broaden medical malpractice or insurance defense considered
- Experience managing discovery, drafting motions, and handling briefing in contested matters
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex records, develop case strategy, and manage matters independently while collaborating with a broader team
Qualifications
- Active admission to the Florida Bar
- At least 3 years of litigation experience in a law firm or comparable legal environment
- Strong oral advocacy and written communication skills, including experience with depositions and court appearances

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Pay
$130,000 – $170,000+ DOE
