Attorney, Labor and Employment
About the role
The Southern California offices of Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete seek California-licensed attorneys with 5+ years of experience for Associate and Senior Counsel roles (depending on bar year or relevant experience).
Responsibilities
- Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings
- Draft and argue motions
- Take and defend depositions, primarily in state and federal court and arbitration involving claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and other related matters
- Provide advice and counsel support to clients
Requirements
- Significant experience in labor and employment law
- Excellent academic credentials
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Experience in drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings
- Experience drafting and arguing motions
- Experience taking and defending depositions
- Experience providing advice and counsel support to clients
- Significant experience in labor and employment law
Benefits
We expect to consider qualified candidates within the range of $220k-$280k; however, we do make hiring decisions based on each candidate’s unique experience, as well as additional factors.
