About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney to join our growing Energy & Environmental Group. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in environmental law, particularly air quality permitting, and an established network of clients.
Responsibilities
- Case Management: Take ownership of matters from start to finish, including regulatory compliance, permitting strategies, and enforcement defense.
- Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough research on federal and state environmental laws to support client strategies and risk mitigation.
- Document Drafting: Draft and review permit applications, agency submissions, compliance plans, agreements, and related environmental documentation.
- Client Development: Leverage an existing portable book of business and cultivate new client relationships through proactive business development efforts.
- Client Communication: Serve as a trusted advisor by maintaining consistent, strategic communications with clients regarding regulatory changes and compliance obligations.
- Negotiation & Advocacy: Represent clients in negotiations with regulators and stakeholders, and in administrative proceedings when necessary.
- Collaboration: Partner with colleagues across the firm, including energy, corporate, and real estate practices, to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
- Compliance & Ethics: Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, including adherence to state bar requirements and firm policies.
- Financial Responsibility: Support client billing, manage collections, and contribute to the financial success of your matters and practice.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with environmental regulations and industry developments while completing all required CLE obligations.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility to waive in).
- Minimum of 5 years of environmental law experience, with a strong focus on air quality permitting.
- Demonstrated experience advising clients on complex environmental regulatory matters, including federal and state compliance.
- Established client relationships and a portable book of business.
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, driven, and detail-oriented professional.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
