Attorney (DV/Family Law) – Santa Monica Workgroup

About the role

The Santa Monica Workgroup is seeking an Attorney to assist residents in the areas of housing, public benefits, and domestic violence and family advocacy. This position will be based in Santa Monica and will work closely with other non-profits, community-based organizations, and local government agencies to help clients achieve the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal representation and advice to clients facing housing, public benefits, and domestic violence and family advocacy issues.
• Conduct intake assessments and develop comprehensive case plans for clients.
• Advocate for clients before administrative agencies and courts.
• Collaborate with other legal aid providers and community organizations to address systemic issues affecting vulnerable populations.
• Maintain an appropriate caseload and ensure timely and effective client service.
• Participate in clinic activities and training sessions.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in California.
• Experience in family law, particularly DV/Family Law, is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to social justice and serving the most vulnerable members of the community.

Pay

$85,000k - $95,613.44k/annually DOE, with excellent benefits.
