• Responsibilities:
  • Provide coverage counsel and advice on a wide variety of insurance policies and disputes.
  • Handle all aspects of insurance litigation, including the preparation of pleadings, motions, and interrogatories.
  • Draft and interpret complex commercial insurance policies and reinsurance contracts.
  • Prepare and issue detailed coverage opinions and Coverage Position Letters.
  • Effectively manage and conduct depositions and trial preparations.
  • Make court appearances and represent the company in all legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate with the legal team and other departments to manage risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to insurance and reinsurance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and provide them with expert legal advice and guidance.
• Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance litigation and coverage counsel.
  • Proficient in drafting and interpreting commercial insurance policies and reinsurance contracts.
  • Extensive experience in trial preparation, depositions, court appearances, and handling interrogatories.
  • Proven track record in drafting coverage opinions and Coverage Position Letters.
  • Solid understanding of policy interpretation and coverage litigation.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
