Career Description
The Community Service Specialist / Rover at Columbia Residential is a key member of the team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the physical property of apartment communities. Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, this role involves performing various maintenance tasks, supervising a team, managing budgets, and ensuring the property's safety and operational efficiency.
Job Specific Competencies
- Provides service to residents in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner
- Establishes emergency maintenance on-call and daily work schedules for maintenance staff and reports to the Community Manager daily
- Follows up on work assignments for efficiency and thorough completion
- Instructs staff on and enforces work policies and procedures, safety procedures, and the use and maintenance of equipment
- Makes regular inspections of the community, notifies management of problems, and recommends solutions
- Identifies and corrects hazardous property conditions that could place the property in a liable position
- Utilizes a preventative maintenance program to minimize costs and downtime
- Obtains competitive pricing on purchases, controls expenses, and maintains financial objectives
Position Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Some college or trade school preferred
- HVAC/Freon Recovery Certification
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) and EPA Universal certificates preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience
- Knowledge of a variety of skilled trades, including elements of construction/installation, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Completion of in-house training within the first 90 days of employment
