About the Role

The Manager of Quality Control reports to the Director of Quality Control and serves as their designee in their absence. This role supervises and manages the Supervisor of Quality Control and, in their absence, oversees Quality Control Inspection Representatives. The Manager of Quality Control ensures programs outlined in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM)—such as Required Inspection Items, Inspection Stamp, Airworthiness Release, precision tool calibration, parts receiving inspection, and Basic Empty Weight & Balance—are properly administered and adhered to. Additionally, this role serves as a member of the CASS and Reliability boards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor heavy maintenance activity to ensure compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.
• Manage the weight and balance program and provide oversight of the aircraft re-weigh process.
• Assemble records for Aging Aircraft Inspections.
• Coordinate and correspond with regulators for surveillance activities.
• Evaluate technical data and regulatory requirements regarding aircraft modifications, maintenance procedures, and upgrades.
• Audit and physically evaluate new company aircraft, helping format their records for induction into existing programs.
• Perform surveillance of inspections, repairs, or modifications conducted by repair stations or overhaul agencies.
• Assist in the development or revision of repair specifications or maintenance programs (Continuous Improvement).

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must complete a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check.
• Technical writing ability for clear and concise instructions used in Engineering Orders.
• Aircraft systems and structures knowledge.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Knowledge of records filing and database research.
• Capable of working independently.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in aviation maintenance.
• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
• Valid passport or the ability to obtain one.

Skills

• Good computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
• Must comply with ATI attendance requirements.
• Light to moderate lifting is required.
