The Role

The Account Manager provides athletic travel support for the university, providing the highest personal service to coaches, athletes, and staff members. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, and has extensive domestic and international group and individual travel experience. This position will sit on-site at the University of Arkansas.

  • Arrange all aspects of athletic individual travel including GDS domestic and international air, hotel, and car bookings.
  • Arrange all aspects of athletic team travel including group contract air, group hotel block, and charter bus bookings.
  • Calculate and perform exchanges including group and individual travel, both domestic and international.
  • Manage group hotel and bus invoicing to meet monthly deadlines.
  • Understand Anthony Travel Group Airline Benefits.
  • Understand Anthony Travel Preferred Bus and Hotel Programs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers via phone and email correspondence.

About the Role

The Account Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless travel arrangements for the university's athletic teams and individuals. This position requires a strong commitment to excellence, punctuality, and a deep understanding of travel logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all travel bookings for athletes and coaches, ensuring timely and accurate service.
  • Handle complex travel arrangements, including international flights and accommodations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth travel processes.
  • Ensure compliance with travel policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to maintain positive relationships with clients.

Requirements

  • Five years of travel agency experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Sabre or similar GDS systems preferred.
  • Experience in air, car, and hotel bookings.
  • Knowledge of airline exchanges, individual and group pricing records.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks concurrently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Proven competence in producing accurate work.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Five years travel agency experience preferred. Proficiency in Sabre or similar GDS preferred.
  • Skills: Extensive experience in GDS domestic and international air, hotel, and car bookings. Knowledge of airline exchanges, individual and group pricing records. Strong judgement and decision-making skills. Ability to produce accurate work under stress of ticketing deadlines. Fast thinking and professional customer service skills. Exceptional verbal and communication skills. Proven competence in managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Other: Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.

Schedule
