Athletic Utility Worker (Temporary)
Job Summary
Athletic Utility Workers assist the Athletics department with a variety of support functions including custodial, laundry, mechanical, set ups, and direct student support services.
Essential Functions
- Receives, verifies and processes new uniform inventory.
- Keeps accurate records on uniform sizing and locker information.
- Supervises athletic locker room use by ensuring student athletes follow procedures and established rules, securing locker room and monitoring appropriate use of locker room facilities.
- Washes, dries, folds, sorts and prepares uniform sets, towels and related items for student athletes and approved coaches.
- Under the direction of an Athletic Administrator, sets up/breakdown fields, facilities and equipment.
- Makes sure facilities are secure before and after special events.
- Picks up and/or delivers assigned athletic equipment to various locations.
- Assists with inventory of equipment at the start/end of each season and prepares list of missing items.
- Sells or collects items at sporting events.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of related work experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple job assignments.
- Ability to understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.
- Previous experience utilizing laundry cleaning and stain removal techniques.
- Able to work a flexible work schedule to include evenings, weekends, holidays as needed.
- Able to lift and push supplies, equipment or laundry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Physical And Mental Requirements
- Frequently sits, performs desk-based computer tasks and grasps light or fine manipulation.
- Frequently stands and/or walks, writes by hand, and lifts and/or carries, pushes and/or pulls objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally twists, bends, stoops, squats, kneels, climbs, reaches or works above shoulder, or grasps firmly.
Working Conditions
This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.

Work Year Pay Range
20.73 - 27.48 Hourly Compensation
Based on the compensation range provided below, salaries are commensurate with job-related experience, skills and competencies, education, internal equity, length of work year, and other organizational needs.
