Athletic Trainer (PRN)

About the Role

Provide services in regards to prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care and rehabilitation for all active individuals and sports-related injuries. The overall goal is to maximize safe return to activity. The individual will also demonstrate professional development and responsibility within the field of athletic training and perform related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries
• Assess patient data and interpret information to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs
• Provide care tailored to individual patient needs
• Demonstrate professional development and responsibility within athletic training
• Adapt to occasional odd hours, weekend work, and travel as required

Requirements

• Graduate of an athletic training program from an accredited college or university
• State of practice licensure or eligibility for Athletic Trainer licensure
• Certification through the Board of Certification, Inc.
• Professional Rescuer CPR certification or its equivalent
• Ability to perform patient care and assess data reflective of patient status

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in athletic training or related field
• Some experience in athletic training (preferred but not required)
• National Athletic Trainers Association certification as an athletic trainer

Skills and Knowledge

• Adaptability to varying work hours and settings (clinical and/or outreach)
• Proficiency in using therapeutic modalities, thermal and electric modalities, computers, dictaphones, cellular phones, and therapeutic equipment

Schedule

PRN (as needed) position with occasional odd hours, weekend work, and travel required.
