Athletic Trainer- PRN

Job Duties

Prepares age and prognosis appropriate prevention, treatment and rehabilitation under the supervision of the physician.
P Performs on-field immediate care for injury, recommending physician or therapy follow up.

Responsibilities

• Maintains injury log per contractual agreement and documents per policy and procedure manual.
• Maintains state license and certification.
• Assists in the day-to-day operations.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

Requirements

• Education Required - Bachelor's degree in athletic training.
• Preferred - Master's degree in athletic training.
• Work Experience Required - None.
• Preferred - Prior expereience as an Athletic Trainer.

Qualifications

• Certifications Required - Current Athletic Trainer license in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred - Athletic Training Board Certification of Board of Certification (BOC).

Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
• Ability to tolerate temperature of 100 degrees or more for three hours during outdoor events.
• Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible work schedule (e.g. more than 8 hours a day).

Knowledge

• Knowledge of using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Knowledge of effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of ability to tolerate high temperatures and travel.
• Knowledge of ability to work flexible schedules.
