Athletic Trainer Outpatient PAH Orthopaedic

Job Summary

The open position supports the Department of Orthopaedics and can be filled by either an Athletic Trainer or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This role involves floating between various outpatient Orthopaedic practices including Pennsylvania Hospital, Penn Medicine University City, and Radnor.

Responsibilities

• Care and prevention of athletic injuries in the clinical setting
• Standard patient care: room patients, collect medical history
• Answer phone calls, complete patient forms, and acquire authorizations
• Provide direct support to the physicians in minor procedures performed in office and joint aspirations/injections
• Prepare clinics, update charts, and coordinate patient referrals
• Stock/Clean rooms daily and order supplies/medications as needed
• DME fitting, casting patients and removal of casts
• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

Qualifications

• Athletic Trainer: Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program at a 4-year college or university (Required)
• Athletic Trainer: Master's Degree from a CAATE accredited Master’s Program Preferred
• Athletic Trainer: 2+ years' experience in Athletic Training in a clinical setting Preferred
• Athletic Trainer: Licensed in the State of Pennsylvania, ATC (Required)
• Athletic Trainer: Board of Certification (BOC) Certified (Required)
• Athletic Trainer: BLS / CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (Required)
• Licensed Practical Nurse: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Licensed Practical Nurse: Graduate of Practice Nursing School (Required)
• Licensed Practical Nurse: 1+ years Outpatient experience Preferred
• Licensed Practical Nurse: Licensed Practical Nurse LPN (Required)
• Licensed Practical Nurse: BLS / CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association (Required)
