About the role

The role involves determining physical therapy diagnoses and establishing a care plan, recommending referrals when necessary, designing and implementing treatment plans, assessing patient abilities, supporting community outreach, overseeing assistant and aide care, documenting treatments accurately, and evaluating patient progress.

Responsibilities

  • Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice.
  • Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
  • Affirms patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.
  • Serves as a resource for consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.
  • Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.
  • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
  • Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
  • Participates in marketing to physicians and physician practices to build referral relationships.
  • Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
  • Maintains patient response and progress to treatment, modifying the treatment plan as appropriate.

Requirements

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) is required. A Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist - Temporary (PT-TEMP) certification is also required.

Qualifications

Education requirements for this position are determined by the licensing or certification standards set forth by the relevant certifying body. Applicants must possess the level of education mandated for eligibility to obtain and maintain the required license or certification.

Skills

Knowledge of physical therapy practices, techniques, and equipment is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required.

Pay

The anticipated minimum pay rate for this position is $35/hour. The pay range is $65,622.66 - $122,055.21.

Schedule

Full time, Monday-Friday, 10am-7pm shift may vary.
