Sports and Ortho Outpatient Physical Therapist

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice.
• Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Affirms patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.
• Maintains patient response and progress to treatment, modifying the treatment plan as appropriate.
• Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.
• Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers and programs as approved and observed by the manager or directors.
• Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.
• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (Field of Study in Physical Therapy preferred).
• Experience treating Sports and Ortho Patients preferred.

Qualifications

• Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Physical Therapist (PT) [Required]
  • OR Physical Therapist - Temporary (PT-TEMP) [Required]
