Position Summary
Concentra is now hiring an experienced and self-driven Athletic Trainer-Onsite (AT-O) for a Full-Time onsite position at our client's site in Denver, CO. The role focuses on healthcare support within an occupational medicine program, promoting health and reducing work-related injuries.
About the Role
This role plays an important part in workers' compensation case coordination, worker injury and illness management, and return to work job placement. The AT-O collaborates with the client's Health and Safety Leader to create a healthier and safer workforce.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic first aid treatment for musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses as specified in Physician Standing Orders
- Evaluate and refer injured associates to appropriate clinicians for best care
- Follow action plan and standing orders for medical emergencies
- Manage Workers' Compensation cases through claim capture and follow-up
- Collaborate with HR team and management on RTW job placement
- Track and communicate MSD-related statistics for client stakeholders
- Coordinate pre-employment functional testing and vision acuity testing
- Implement ergonomic job analyses, task analyses, and support administrative and ergonomic changes
- Create job rotation plans and monitor compliance
- Administer drug and alcohol testing
- Communicate regularly with safety personnel regarding rehab and injury prevention activities
- Attend meetings and serve on committees as requested
- Author articles for newsletters and the company intranet
Requirements
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or equivalent certifications
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge of Athletic Trainer services consistent with an Onsite setting
- Knowledge of kinesiology or ergonomic assessments
- Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques of athletic training
- Awareness of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care
- Use and maintenance of athletic training equipment
- Practice and experience with common safety hazards and precautions
- Ability to develop and maintain patient care records and write reports
- Time management, planning and workload control skills
