About the Role
The Wellness Center and Natatorium at USD is looking for a professional athletic trainer to assist in providing injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services for our new and expanding Club Sports programs. This will include athletes competing in volleyball, soccer, baseball, powerlifting, rugby, tennis, swimming, and distance sports. This position is instrumental in helping student-athletes perform safely and successfully both in training and competition.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in sports medicine or a related field with experience in a similar position required.
- BOC certification required and South Dakota Athletic Trainers licensure eligible.
- Familiarity with University of South Dakota events preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Appointment Details
- This position will be appointed on either a 9-month or 12-month basis, depending on operational needs and candidate preference.
- Advertised Salary: $42,250 - $45,000 for 12 months; depending on qualification and experience.
- Duration of the Term: 12 months (possible to be 9 or 10 month employee).
- Appointment Percent: 100%.
- Work Hours: This position will be 8 – 5 with some evenings and weekends possible. Position can be adjusted to 9 months if desired as well.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Physical: Bending, stooping, twisting, fine finger manipulation (keyboarding, pipefitting, bench work, etc), grasping, reaching, repetitive motion, sitting for sustained periods of time, standing for sustained periods of time.
- Sensory: Hearing, speaking, vision (with and without corrective lenses).
- Working Conditions: Exposure or potential exposure to blood/body fluids, walking/standing on rough or uneven surfaces (gravel, rocks, etc). Working at fields and could have blood of an injury.
- Working Environment: Athletic/Wellness Facilities.
