Athletic Trainer II (11/12)

About the Role

Working independently under the general oversight of the Head Athletic Trainer, the incumbent will perform the full range of athletic training functions to support the 13 varsity intercollegiate athletic teams sponsored by the Department of Athletics. Responsibilities include coverage in the athletic training room, at team practices and competitions (home and away), on-court/field set-up of athletic training equipment, as well as water and post-practice follow-up care and assessment of injuries.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and implement appropriate injury treatment and rehabilitation plans according to best practice and industry standards.
• Coordinate with the Head Athletic Trainer and other senior athletic trainers to ensure adequate coverage of all sports.
• Perform administrative tasks related to the position.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or a related field of study, or a combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge and abilities. Coursework must include completion of the Board of Certification (BOC) curriculum requirements.
• Two years of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer in a high school or college environment.
• Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification for Athletic Trainer.
• Basic Life Support Instructor and Provider certification.
• Valid California Driver’s License and completion of the CSU Defensive Driver’s Training course.
• Maintain CPR, First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification throughout employment.

Preferences

• Master’s Degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or a related field of study.
• Two or more years of college-level athletic training experience (at a two- or four-year college).

Pay

CSU Classification Salary Range: $53,988 (Step 1) - $78,648 (Step 20) per year.

Schedule

Full-time, 11/12 pay plan (June off). Work schedule varies based on athletics operations and event coverage needs.
