About the role

This is a full-time position that floats between various schools around the South Shore and south of Boston. Provide services to student athletes under the direction of the program or department head in accordance with state athletic training practices.

Responsibilities

  • Care for athletic injuries.
  • Design and implement injury rehabilitation programs.
  • Formulate assessments and execute plans of action that best aid student-athletes’ health needs and determine safe return to sport participation.
  • Provide athletic training coverage for all home/hosted contests as described by the CCCAA bylaws.
  • Administer emergency care and first aid.
  • Create and regularly update an injury report.
  • Ensure proper equipment use and fitting such as helmets, shoulder pads, braces, mouthpieces, tape, or wraps.
  • Maintain documents, supplies, and the working environment to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the clinic.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field required; Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Athletic Trainer [State License].
  • Vehicle Driver's License [State License].
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer [ATC] - Board of Certification of the Athletic Trainer (BOC).
  • 0-1 year of experience working as an athletic trainer preferred.
  • Current Massachusetts driver’s license, a safe driving record, and reliable transportation required.

  • Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Schedule

This is a full-time, onsite role floating between various schools around the South Shore and south of Boston. Eligible for evening and weekend differentials. Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
