About the Role
Responsible for providing patient care through assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical evaluation, following established standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and staff in coordinating patient care, including obtaining patient histories, vital signs, and assessments.
- Prepare exam rooms, obtain patient consent, and support office procedures such as injections, sutures, and cast applications.
- Provide patient education, fit DME items, and ensure proper documentation and communication of instructions.
- Coordinate lab, imaging, and therapy orders, and manage sterilization, inventory, and safety protocols.
- Train staff on rooming, DME fitting, and procedural tasks, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
- Maintain supplies, handle biohazard waste, and ensure equipment readiness.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (various recognized certifications) or equivalent education (H.S. Diploma/GED).
- Experience with medical terminology and patient care procedures.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies.
