About the role
Willis Knighton Health is seeking a full‑time Athletic Trainer to work with local high‑school athletes and community events. The Athletic Trainer will implement treatment plans for injuries, apply appropriate modalities, and provide on‑field assessments and emergency care as needed. The role involves close collaboration with fellow athletic trainers, the Sports Medicine Medical Director, and team physicians, and requires travel to events as well as occasional night, weekend, and holiday hours.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans for injured athletes, including appropriate modalities.
- Perform on‑field assessments and provide emergency care during events.
- Collaborate with fellow athletic trainers to ensure coverage of events.
- Work closely with the Sports Medicine Medical Director and team physicians.
- Travel to athletic events as required.
- Attend a hospital‑wide orientation and a department‑focused orientation upon hire.
Requirements
- License or eligibility for licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Current Athletic Trainer Certification from the Board of Certification.
- Experience in athletic training preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a professional environment.
- Well‑organized, capable of working autonomously and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Schedule
Full‑time day shift (8:00 am – 4:30 pm) with the possibility of night, weekend, and holiday hours as event coverage demands.
