Position Title: Athletic Trainer (Continuous Recruitment) – Academic Staff, Regular employment.
Position Summary
This posting is part of an ongoing effort to build a network of qualified candidates for future opportunities. Although there is not a current vacancy, applications are reviewed regularly and candidates will be contacted when a suitable role becomes available. Athletic Trainers report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance and are responsible for evaluating athletic injuries, consulting with team physicians and healthcare professionals, providing health care, and making referrals to support injury care and prevention for 16 varsity sports.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Provide practice and event coverage, including evenings and weekends.
- Supervise athletic training facilities and student first aiders.
- Provide care, prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and documentation of injuries for assigned sport responsibilities.
- Communicate with sports medicine, coaching, and athletic administration staff.
- Sport assignments and other duties are determined by the Head Athletic Trainer.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- NATA BOC certification.
- Wisconsin license eligible.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours.
