Essential Responsibilities
- Perform ergonomic job analysis, including task analysis, risk factor identification and quantification, and body mechanics analysis for all departments
- Develop and maintain Physical Demand Assessments for all positions
- Implement/maintain exercise program for facility to include Work Conditioning exercise for New Hires
- Create innovation, creative solutions and employee empowerment to design and/or implement ergonomic interventions such as, job rotation, exercise programs, and training and education
- Monitor the effectiveness of the Industrial Athlete Program, and suggest improvements as necessary to the Training Manager
- Monitor employees who are in conservative treatment or return to work to include the restricted work activity, and ergonomic interventions
- Aid in the determination of causality for alleged occupational illnesses
- Assess an employee’s ability to perform work tasks
- Perform data analysis to measure direct and indirect cost of musculoskeletal disorders and trend identification
- Oversee and manage the entire company Ergonomic Program
- Track and implement all ergonomic improvements and work-orders
- Develop and conduct all Ergonomic Training for the facility
- Treat all referring patients for work conditioning and work hardening to the specifications of job related demands
- Utilize screening tools to make accurate recommendations for return-to-work status
- Keeps abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of Athletic training as well work hardening/conditioning
- Attends conventions, meetings, or special courses whenever possible and to share with the clinic personnel information gained
- Prepares and gives talks to community groups and participates in community outreach events in support of Connecticut Orthopaedics Social Corporate Responsibility initiatives
- Completes and submits all reports pertaining to the evaluation via EMR
- Confers with person’s most closely associated with the active management of the patient and keeps them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress
- Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the clinic
- Serves as a liaison between the patient and the referring physician
- Sees that all referral sources are advised of clinic action for the case referred
- Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Previous experience in outpatient setting preferred
- Connecticut Athletic Trainer license required
- FCE Certification preferred
- Basic Life Support certification required
