Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Recognize, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate participating athletes who have suffered a sports injury or illness.
• Provide injury prevention education to those athletes.
• Coverage of athletic team events and additional special events as assigned.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the assigned school, the parent/athlete, and appropriate healthcare providers.
• Make return to play decisions as appropriate.
• Document patient/athlete interactions on appropriate forms, including follow-up documentation.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and safe athletic training room.
• Order and maintain supplies/equipment inventory.
• Assist with budgeting related to assigned school.
• Referral and scheduling of athletes to appropriate healthcare providers.
• Coordinate with school and district personnel on emergency action plans and sports medicine policies.
• Ensure the completion and dissemination of school insurance claim forms.
• Be available by phone to assigned school when not on campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
• One year of experience in a related field.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to make informed decisions regarding athlete health and safety.
• Knowledge of emergency action plans and sports medicine policies.

Benefits

• $5K sign-on bonus for new hires.
• Salary range of $24.40-$30.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
