Roles Athletic Pep Band Director Responsibilities Supervision and development of band membersRecruitment event and practice preparation and managementprovide pep band at as many on-campus events as possible with focus on athletic events (pep rallies, football games, volleyball matches, basketball games as well as directed hockey, lacrosse and soccer match-ups)community and alumni relations as assignedmaking travel arrangements if necessarydrive to and from events and practices (as needed)administrative duties as assignedfund-raising as assignedOther duties as assigned by Sr. Associate AD for Emerging Sports Qualifications Bachelor’s degreeWorking knowledge of music and instrumental instruction Previous directing experience Expectations Adhere to Northwood University rules, regulations, and policiesAdhere to institutional regulations and policiesProvide leadership to promote a life-changing, positive experience for your band membersPromote academic success in the classroom and members being a positive presence on campusHave success on the court while representing Northwood with class and integrityMeet and exceed squad size numbers to aid our admissions departmentAssist in specific community service projects for each team to learn the importance of giving back to the communityRepresent Northwood in a professional, positive manner in the office, on-campus and in the communityBe flexibleBe a good team player within the department Northwood University stands apart in higher education with a philosophy grounded in The Northwood Idea — emphasizing freedom, free enterprise, personal responsibility, and limited government.
