About the role
The Athletic Health Care Trainer position is responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures for the school's athletic health care program and training facility, conducting pre-participation evaluations, working with coaches to develop training programs, and monitoring athletic activities for safety.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements standard operating procedures for the school's athletic health care program and training facility in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Conducts pre-participation evaluations to screen for injury/illness risk factors associated with participation in competitive athletics.
- Works with coaches to develop and implement effective training and conditioning programs for student athletes.
- Advises the athletic director and/or coaches on the appropriate selection and proper fitting of protective equipment.
- Makes decisions on the management of acute injuries and develops and supervises appropriate rehabilitation programs.
- Serves as a resource person and provides technical assistance to coaches, teachers, and other personnel regarding the health care of students and student athletes.
- Monitors athlete’s appropriate reintegration into program activities.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current certification as an athletic trainer from the NATABOC.
- Current certification in ECC from the American Red Cross (CPR/AED for the professional rescuer), American Heart Association (BLS for healthcare providers CPR/AED or advanced cardiac life support) or National Safety Council (professional rescuer CPR).
- Registration/License Requirement: Must be registered with the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs (DCCA) as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Hawaii at the time of employment.
- Valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Hawaii.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- Experience: At least two years of experience as an athletic trainer.

- Knowledge of athletic training principles and techniques.
- Ability to make quick decisions and handle emergencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and devices.
Benefits
Salary: $5,527.00 - $6,728.00 per month.

Pay
Payday: On the 5th and 20th (or previous business day) of every month.
