Athletic Enrollment Advisor

About the role

The Athletic Enrollment Advisor at NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) plays a crucial role in supporting student-athletes' academic success and eligibility compliance. This position is integral to the integrated, student-centered approach aimed at enhancing student-athlete retention, academic progress, and overall development.

Responsibilities

• Provides academic advising and student success support specifically for NWACC student-athletes
• Serves as the primary institutional coordinator for all NJCAA athletic eligibility and compliance requirements
• Makes regular checks and certifications of student-athlete eligibility, including enrollment status, academic progress, transfer requirements, residency documentation, and continuing eligibility standards
• Aids student-athletes with NCAA transfer eligibility, transfer pathways, and academic planning when applicable

Requirements

Essential duties include providing academic advising and student success support specifically for NWACC student-athletes, serving as the primary institutional coordinator for all NJCAA athletic eligibility and compliance requirements, monitoring and certifying student-athlete eligibility, assisting student-athletes with NCAA transfer eligibility, transfer pathways, and academic planning when applicable, and additional duties as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the department and college.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Minimum of one year of prior academic advising experience in higher education

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in intercollegiate athletics, athletic academic advising, athletic eligibility, compliance, or student-athlete support services
• Experience advising NJCAA and/or NCAA student-athletes
• Knowledge of NJCAA and/or NCAA eligibility standards, transfer requirements, and compliance processes
• Experience working with student-athletes, athletics, or athletic eligibility processes preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs
• Knowledge of campus and community resources
• Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs
• Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs
• Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations
• Ability to compile information into report form

Pay

Rate of Pay: $41,107 annualized *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position.
