Athletic Department Interns

Position Summary

Adams State is a state-supported primarily undergraduate institution in the San Luis Valley, a rural and agricultural area of south-central Colorado. The University is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution and as a regional education provider. Adams State University is an NCAA Division II member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The position is a 10-month at-will appointment.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the coordination and strategic development, implementation, and activation of comprehensive marketing and ticket sales plans.
• Assist with sponsorship implementation, social media, fan engagement, and organizational branding outreach within the Athletic Department.
• Assist the Business Manager with ticketing processes and game day experience.
• Support the Compliance department.
• Assist with planning, setup, execution, and post-event operations.
• Assist with Grizzly Club-related functions.
• Hold office hours and communicate sport-specific projects or updates.
• Assist with travel arrangements and other fiscal functions.
• Lead marketing efforts for the department.
• Attend home events (including weekends).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
• Knowledge of and commitment to strict adherence to NCAA, RMAC, university, and department rules and regulations.
• High ethical standards and initiative/integrity to make important independent decisions.
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with diverse identities, cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies.
• Appropriate conflict management skills and the ability to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community.
• An understanding of Adams State University’s vision and mission.
