Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center is seeking a School Psychologist for the 2026/2027 school year.

About the Role

The School Psychologist will provide a full range of psychological services to assigned schools, including psycho-educational assessment, consultation, intervention, and prevention services. The position supports the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of students in collaboration with educators, families, and other professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psycho-educational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions for students with academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs.
  • Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and parents on strategies to support student success.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with school teams to design and implement school-wide prevention and intervention programs.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for students and staff as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Stay current with best practices in school psychology through professional development.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Ohio Department of Education license or certificate as a School Psychologist.
  • Experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments and writing comprehensive reports.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and school teams.
