ATC Teacher Development Manager
Type of Position: Outreach Programs (Fixed Term, one-year appointment renewable based on need, funding, and performance)

About the Role
The Arkansas Teacher Corps (ATC) Teacher Development Manager (TDM) monitors the teacher training and individual progress of Fellows enrolled in the ATC program and facilitates learning communities for novice teachers at partner schools to increase student achievement.
The TDM must be available for the seven-week Summer Institute for incoming Fellows, which requires living and working on-site during portions of the summer training. The position also requires regular travel across the state by automobile and availability to work some nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Set and maintain a rigorous vision for excellent, equitable education across grade levels and content areas.
- Build reciprocal, trusting relationships with teachers and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and whole-group learning during summer institute and the school year.
- Observe and debrief teachers’ instruction.
- Leverage a variety of coaching methods and approaches to support adult learners individually.
- Analyze student and teacher data to assess classroom needs.
- Create a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and learning within the cohort.
- Track Fellow attendance, completion of program expectations, and requirements for teacher licensure.
- Communicate with principals, mentor teachers, and other stakeholders regarding Fellows’ progress.
- Assist Fellows with long-term goal-setting and monitor progress toward goals.
- Support struggling Fellows through targeted support plans and differentiated interventions.
- Collaborate with the ATC team to assess programmatic gaps and identify systemic solutions.
- Plan and execute the seven-week Summer Institute, including coordinating logistics, planning/facilitating sessions, and training/supervising part-time mentors and facilitators.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of Fellows, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews.
Requirements
- Earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience teaching K-12 with a strong track record of student achievement.
- Experience with developing, coaching, or managing adults.
- Experience building relationships with community groups.
- Ability and willingness to travel across the state by automobile.
- Availability to work some nights and weekends.
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching a hard-to-fill content area or grade level.
- At least three years of K-12 teaching experience in public schools.
- Experience supporting or training novice teachers specifically.
- Resides or willing to reside in service area (central or eastern Arkansas).
