Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements for various nonprofit and other clients according to GAAP and applicable standards
- Supervise and mentor associate staff and interns on engagements, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness
- Perform general audit procedures, including coordinating audit closing communications, drafting client correspondence, and resolving open items
- Apply knowledge of nonprofit-specific accounting and auditing standards relevant to the client's organizational structure and funding sources
- Research technical accounting and auditing issues using firm-approved online tools and authoritative literature
- Auxiliary in managing client engagements from planning through completion, managing budgets and timelines
- Maintain open, proactive communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and adherence to deadlines
- Prepare and review audit workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm and professional standards
- Broaden technical expertise by reviewing complex client transactions and collaborating with managers on technical conclusions
- Participate in professional development, continuing education, and firm-sponsored training on a regular basis
- Support business development activities and contribute to building positive, lasting client relationships
- Take on additional related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
- CPA license or active pursuit of CPA licensure (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm
- Demonstrated nonprofit audit experience across a variety of nonprofit entity types
- Experience with nonprofit accounting and ERP software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Blackbaud, or QuickBooks Nonprofit) (plus)
- Proficiency in audit engagement software (e.g., CaseWare, CCH Engagement, or ProSystem fx) (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow
Qualifications
- Desired qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, CPA license or active pursuit of CPA licensure, minimum of 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm, demonstrated nonprofit audit experience, proficiency in audit engagement software, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
