Asst Utilization Coordinator

About the Role

Under general supervision, the Assistant Utilization Coordinator assists in the implementation or investigation of procedures specified in the Quality Management, Utilization Review, and Discharge Planning Program at Westchester Medical Center.

Depending on assignment, responsibilities may include:

• Implementing the review/screening aspects of the Quality Improvement Plan.
• Monitoring the length of stay and resource consumption of patients.
• Evaluating, investigating, and reporting on hospital incidents.
• Developing procedures to improve patient care.
• Assisting in carrying out all aspects of the Quality Improvement Program to ensure compliance with medical standards for patient care prescribed by accrediting, licensing, and reimbursement agencies.

May supervise a few support staff. Performs related work as required.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York State Department of Education, as a registered professional nurse.
• Three years of experience where the primary function was nursing in a hospital or health care agency, one year of which must have been in utilization review, quality assurance, risk management, or discharge planning.
