About the role
The Assistant Nurse Manager provides supervision and clinical expertise to staff in his/her assigned area. They assist the Nurse Manager in hiring and firing of nursing personnel, conducting periodic employee evaluations, orientation of new employees, and performance improvement activities. They also assist the Nurse Manager in devising and managing the departmental budget(s).
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and provide clinical expertise.
- Hire and fire nursing personnel as directed.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree, BSN or BS in related health care field preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida, BLS, ACLS, PALS, STABLE as required by department.
- Experience: 3-5 years practicing RN in acute care.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Skills
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards & Nursing Standards.
- Good customer service skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Above average oral and written communication abilities.
- Effective problem-solving decision making skills.
