Responsibilities

  • Provides diligent and responsible animal care.
    • Feeds and waters animals.
    • Changes and cleans cages.
    • Sanitizes equipment and facilities.
    • Records and reports animal abnormalities.
    • Aids in technical procedures.
    • Records and reports on environmental abnormalities.
    • Provides routine physical maintenance of assigned areas.
  • Performs routine duties associated with cage sanitation and preparation for reuse in a research setting.
    • Maintains cage maintenance.
    • Maintains proper function of cage washing and related equipment.
    • Operates mechanical washers.
    • Operates autoclaves.
    • Transports caging and supplies.
    • Maintains sanitary condition of cage wash facilities.
    • Maintains sanitary condition of other ancillary areas.

Requirements

  • Lift 50 pounds (with or without accommodation).
  • Available to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency and one year of relevant experience.
  • AALAS Certification at the ALAT level or AALAS certification within 6 months of eligibility.
  • Experience navigating web-based computer applications materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous animal experience (Veterinary Technology degree a plus).

Pay

Starts at $37,440.

Schedule

Rotating weekends and occasional holidays.
