Responsibilities
- Provides diligent and responsible animal care.
- Feeds and waters animals.
- Changes and cleans cages.
- Sanitizes equipment and facilities.
- Records and reports animal abnormalities.
- Aids in technical procedures.
- Records and reports on environmental abnormalities.
- Provides routine physical maintenance of assigned areas.
- Performs routine duties associated with cage sanitation and preparation for reuse in a research setting.
- Maintains cage maintenance.
- Maintains proper function of cage washing and related equipment.
- Operates mechanical washers.
- Operates autoclaves.
- Transports caging and supplies.
- Maintains sanitary condition of cage wash facilities.
- Maintains sanitary condition of other ancillary areas.
Requirements
- Lift 50 pounds (with or without accommodation).
- Available to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays.
- Valid Driver's License.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency and one year of relevant experience.
- AALAS Certification at the ALAT level or AALAS certification within 6 months of eligibility.
- Experience navigating web-based computer applications materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous animal experience (Veterinary Technology degree a plus).
Pay
Starts at $37,440.
Schedule
Rotating weekends and occasional holidays.
