Position Summary
Duties
- Teach a variety of courses, including Introduction to Political Science, American Government, Comparative Politics, International Relations, Research Methods, Political Theory, and Senior Seminar.
- Serve as the Chair of the Department, which includes:
- Articulating a vision and strategic plan for the department.
- Coordinating the execution of the department's educational programs with the faculty.
- Making decisions about course registrations and course instructor assignments.
- Evaluating faculty and overseeing processes for faculty re/appointments and promotion.
- Communicating and addressing concerns of internal and external constituents on the departmental level.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in Political Science.
- Teaching experience at a community college, four-year college, or university.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- A strong command in quantitative analysis.
- Grant writing experience is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with faculty and community members.
Qualifications
