About the role

The Department of Psychiatry and Institute for Juvenile Research at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is seeking dedicated and accomplished Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists (rank commensurate with experience) to join our faculty.

The successful candidate will contribute to the department's mission through excellence in clinical care, teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to clinical care of diverse and vulnerable patients, serving predominantly minority and economically underserved populations on the South and West Sides of Chicago.
  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in the Department of Psychiatry and Institute for Juvenile Research.
  • Participate in research activities, contributing to basic, clinical, translational, and psychosocial research focused on child and adolescent mental health.
  • Maintain a productive research agenda, securing external funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

  • Hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, with board eligibility or certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Possess or be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois, a State of Illinois Controlled Substance License, and an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration license.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or related field.
  • Experience in clinical care and teaching of child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
