Association Intern - National Security Space
Summary Of Position Description And Requirements
Aid in event registration for all NSSA events, including setting up the registration system, handling inquiries, facilitating clearance processes, and managing badge printing. Support the maintenance of contact lists for a new software system. Provide administrative assistance such as attending meetings, taking notes, and scheduling appointments. Maintain inventory of NSSA assets and assist with communication team initiatives. Offer logistical support for meetings and events, both in-person and virtual.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree or anticipated bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management, or related field.
- Internship experience with similar responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Working knowledge of databases.
- Motivated team player and "can do" self-starter, capable of working independently without supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and timely task completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, able to build meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly apply new skills to informed decision-making.
- Critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with corporate membership associations or the national security space industry.
- Experience in planning and producing in-person and virtual events.
- Experience with customer relationship management platforms (CRM).
- Experience in quickly learning and using new software platforms.
