About the Internship

American National Insurance Company's Summer Internship Program provides meaningful, real-world corporate experience while helping build a strong talent pipeline. The program blends hands-on project work with learning, leadership exposure, business education, and relationship-building opportunities.

The 2027 summer internship runs Monday, May 24 through Friday, August 6, with an optional extension to August 13. Internships are paid hourly with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Department & Location

Central IT Department at the League City, TX location.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university
• Junior standing or higher by the start of the internship; May 2027 graduates are welcome
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Available to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Able to work onsite at the posted role location

What You'll Do & Skills You'll Build

In this role, you'll support identity and access management initiatives that help employees securely access business applications. You'll gain hands-on experience documenting application processes, supporting authentication configurations, testing solutions, and improving operational workflows. Along the way, you'll build practical knowledge of single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), security protocols, and enterprise cybersecurity technologies.

Qualifications

• Major: Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering
• Protocols: Understanding of SAML 2, OAuth 2, OIDC, and WS-Federation
• Directory Services: Familiarity with LDAP, Active Directory (AD), and Azure AD
• Coursework, projects, or hands-on experience with identity and access management technologies is preferred but not required
• API Security: Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and token-based authentication
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Sound problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs
