Association Banking Director of Operations

What You'll Do

  • Lead the bank’s banking operation teams, ensuring smooth workflow, efficiency, and adherence to applicable policies and procedures.
  • Set goals and objectives, liaise with clients, ensure timely and correct transactions, resolve issues, and execute the banking operations plan.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of operation staff, plan, direct, or coordinate the delivery of products and services.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place to reduce risk and minimize fraud.
  • Facilitate timely and accurate banking transactions across all operational systems.
  • Support Operations and Sales to build and maintain strong relationships with all key stakeholders and grow relationships by providing excellent customer service in support of business profitability and deposit goals.
  • Develop and drive alignment of strategic operations plan and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and lead adoption, usage, and reinforcement of change as change agent.
  • Maintain strong understanding of all bank products and services provided to clients and integrations to client external accounting software.
  • Collaborate with Sales to build trust and enhance the customer relationship.
  • Direct managers in any team performance calibration.
  • Ensure adherence to risk management guidelines, processes, and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Test risk controls, as directed.
  • Collaborate with internal, external auditors and prepare, monitor, update, and ensure completion of associated action plans, as necessary.
  • Support bankers in following and supporting fraud control procedures, and assist customers and the Fraud Control team in mitigating bank and customer risk of monetary loss.
  • Drive and support the development and enhancement of internal and customer user guides, desktop, and department procedures.
  • Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training, and development.

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of related experience in Treasury Management Service, Branch Banking Operations, or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules, and regulations, industry standards, and practices.
  • Strong leadership experience managing and developing large groups of employees.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to connect effective development initiatives with business needs.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally.
  • Ability to effectively manage large staff, multiple projects with deadlines, and budget constraints.
  • Expert speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Occasional travel required.
